Bergen SEAS uses the boating facilities at Monksville Reservoir, and has permission from the State Parks Department to hold water safety and sailing classes at the site.  

Monksville Reservoir  (named for the town submerged) was completed in 1987 as part of the Wanaque South Project.  This joint venture between North Jersey Water Supply Commission and Hackensack Water Company includes the 6.6 billion gallon Monksville Reservoir, 2 pump stations, a 17 mile 60" pipeline from the Wanaque Reservoir to the Oradell Reservoir and an 11 mile 102" pipeline from the intake to the Wanaque Reservoir.
