The Monmouth Chapter offers the Introduction to Cruising Course.  With this course you’ll become familiar with and learn how to: operate all of the systems and equipment of a cruiser; prepare for a cruise, including gear for personal comfort and safety as well as how to prepare the boat; cruising seamanship, including crew assignments, sail handling and sail trim on a cruiser; safety procedures including man overboard drills, using a VHF radio to call for help, handling emergencies; basic piloting, including navigation, plotting and rules of the road; leaving & returning to dock, rafting up, anchoring and heaving to on a cruiser.

The Morris Chapter offers a First Mates Course, Piloting and Chart Reading, Tides and Currents, as well as a course on Celestial Navigation for GPS Users, all of which are excellent courses for anyone interested in cruising!
